   01年5月、『インジュリー・ラヴズ・メロディー』でメジャー・デビューを果たしたニューヨークの4人組ディフューザーの2ndアルバム。多彩なバックグラウンドを持っているこの連中、今回はポップ・パンクやエモ系のバンドを数多く手掛けているマーク・トロンビーノのプロデュースの下、軽快なポップ・パンク・ナンバーに狙いを定めつつ、ストリングスをフィーチュアしたバラード「ホワイ」やヘヴィな「ファー・アンド・ビトゥイーン」、そしてアコースティック・ギターを使った「ブレイクアウェイ」といった曲で、しっかりバリエーションを付けている。やや出来すぎという感は否めないけれど、前作もそうだったことを考えると、そんな器用さもこの連中の持ち味なんだろう。（山口智男）

1stでは、今一歩歩くなり切れないダークな魅力と、
ヘンンテコなメロディーが特徴的だった。
そしてシークレットトラックには、彼らが影響を受けたであろう
HR/HM風な曲が収録されていた。

今作では、ギターソロは聴かれないものの、完全なHR/HMな
仕上がりになっている。
Harem ScaremやSzutersといったバンドに近いものを感じた。

とくに、１０なんて思いっきりHR/HMな感じである。

SUM41がHMのパロディーをするなら、
DiffuserはHRのパロディーと言った感じだろうか？
とにかく、メロディー満載、勢いのある曲ばかりなので
ANDREW W.K.,Sugarcult,SR-71,DONOTS,Szuters,40FT.Ringoなど
好きな人にはウケルと思う。
もちろんPOISON,WARRENT,TRIXTER,ENUFF ZNUFF
などポップなHMが好きな方たちにも、受けるはずだ。

プロデューサーにMark Trombinoを迎え、前作よりもパンクっぽい仕上がりになったみたい。
オフィシャル・ホームページで試聴できる三曲：Here’s To You、Get It On、I Wonderはかなり良い出来栄え。

かと言って、完全にパンクではないと思う。うーん、ちょっと中途半端かなぁ。でも、かなり期待大！！

なるほど納得のMark Trombino的な仕上がりです。前作"injurylovesmelody"ようなダークでエモティーブ、衝動的なギターリフ、当時よく言われたEMO的な雰囲気はすっかり影を潜めて、青い空、何処までも続く高速アスファルトを車でかっ飛ばすようなサウンド仕上がり。コレが吉と出てるからMarkの起用はアタリでしょう。「Foo Fighters的なエンターテーエィメント性の高いROCKにも歩みを近づけているではないでしょうか?」2000~現在に至るまでEMOやPOST ROCKのバンドは星の数ほど出てきたけど、どのバンドも次の展開をどこに持っていくのかが、バンドの底力の見せ所ではないでしょうか?彼らの明確な方向性がしっかりと確認できる傑作!
