久々の新曲発表。しかもバラードモード全開です。今回はロンドンでレコーディングされたそうです。鷺巣詩郎さん作曲・編曲。オーケストラを全面に生かしたMISIAらしい壮大なバラードでMISIAの力強く艶やかなのびのあるボーカルが生かされています。やっぱりMISIAはバラードだと再認識させてくれます。今回は、妻夫木聡とSAYAKA主演の映画「ドラゴン・ヘッド」の主題にもなっていて、これから私達の耳にどんどん入ってきます。今から発売が楽しみです。

　映画『ドラゴンヘッド』のスリリングでサバイバルな世界で決して諦めることなく前進する男女に捧げられる応援歌。スクリーンの世界にとどまらず、『心ひとつ』という言葉の重さと澄んだ響きに共感できる。

その一言に尽きる。
ここ数年、MISIAの出すシングルはほとんどが同じ傾向のバラードばかりである。
もちろん、MISIA自身のシンガーとしての実力は高く評価されるべきものであり、CDを聴いてもあまりMISIAに興味をもたなかった人間がライブを聴いて豹変した実例を何人も知っている自分としてはMISIA自身の歌唱力に文句をつける気はさらさらない。

だが、あまりに同じ傾向のバラードばかりでインパクトが薄くなっているのも確かだ。
「Back Blocks」があるのでは？という声が聞こえてきそうだが、バラードの各曲に大型のタイアップがついているのに対し「Back Blocks」には何もない。あたかも売る気があまりないかのように。

これはつまりMISIAに要求されている現在のポジションが「バラード専用歌手」であるということだ。
だが、デビュー曲「つつみこむように…」で見せたように、決してMISIAはバラードだけしか歌えないような浅薄な歌手ではない。
そろそろただ聴いてメソメソ泣くだけのバラードはやめにして、聴く者の心を元気に躍らせてくれるようなそんな曲を望みたい。
