　「グリーン・デスティニー」と同じタン・ドゥンの音楽監督起用は、大胆というほかはない。曲調がどうしても似通ってしまうからだ。

　だがオペラ「トゥーランドット」の演出を手がけたことがあり、米国アカデミー賞外国語映画部門受賞を狙ったチャン・イーモウ監督にとって、従来の映画音楽家では物足らず、国際的に活躍している母国の著名な音楽家がどうしても必要だったのだろう。

　タン・ドゥンは前年、米国アカデミー賞会場で知り合ったバイオリニストのイツァーク・パールマンに、高価なバイオリンの弦の調律をあえて変えてまで、胡弓のような音色を要求したという。日本が誇る和太鼓集団・鼓童の起用も功を奏し、エイジアンムードあふれ、荘厳かつダイナミックで勇壮なＢＧＭが誕生した。戦敗!国の壮士たちの”滅びの美学”にふさわしい、哀調を帯びた旋律も忘れがたい。今後中国史を語る日本の番組のBGMに転用されまくりそうな予感。

映画館で見たとき、太鼓の響きと胡弓の余韻、そして長空との決闘シーンで流れた静かな琴の曲があまりに印象的で購入を決めました。
全体的に物悲しくて、激しいメロディーは少ないのですが、それだけに刺客たちの決意や精神的な闘いの様子が伝わってきます。

もちろん太鼓のリズムが根底にあるので、闘いの緊張感はありますし、秦軍を表す太鼓と男声コーラスは迫力満点です。
何度聞いても心に染みます・・・。

映画を見て買おうと思った、確かに良い曲である。
ただ余り音がよろしくないような気がする。
ノイズ感があって音が広がりに欠ける気がする。
高音は特にノイズを感じる。
音質が気にならないのであれば良いCDであると思う。
コピーコントロールCDでもないのになぜだろう？

映画で感動し、自宅、車でCDを聴き、更に感動。俳優ひとりひとりの凛とした表情が思い出され、神々しい気持ちになります。
