'78年発表の代表作「at Budokan」の拡大版。
当時のLPは実際のステージから10曲だけ収録されましたが、後に残りの9曲を'79年のライヴ3曲とあわせて「at Budokan II」として発売されました。
このアルバムでは'78年の初来日公演を再現する形でほとんどカットされていたMCも含めて2枚組に拡大されました。
エンハンストで2曲分のライヴを見ることができます。（内1曲はビデオで発売済）

当時のライヴの雰囲気を味わうには最高のアルバムですが、本人たちが不服だとしてもオリジナルLPの凝縮された内容にはかないません。
それほどオリジナルが良く出来たライヴ盤だったという事だと思います。
また大阪公演の演奏も含まれているため、いっそのこと全て武道館でのライヴの完全版として発売するのも良かったのではないでしょうか。
これから「at Budokan」を聞こうと思っている方には、迷わずオリジナルの方からお勧めします。
気に入ったならこちらも、というところです。

武道館公演はビデオ収録され、テレビ放映もされたのでDVDとして発売されても良いのではないかと思うのですが、いまだ実現していないのが残念です。

4.0 out of 5 stars 「BIG IN JAPAN」だった彼らの出世作, 2004/1/24
ライヴ盤で聴こえてくる“黄色い歓声”には虫酸が走るタチだ。
やはりライヴは「キャー」ではなく地響きのような「うおぉぉぉぉ~」の方がイイ。
それでも、このアルバムを選んでしまうのは、歓声が楽曲の一部と化してしまっていて、それが曲の持つ雰囲気を増幅させているからに他ならない。

東京オリンピックの時のジュードー・アリーナを、「世界のＢＵＤＯＫＡＮ」にした功績は大きいし、彼らの快進撃もこのアルバムから始まった。
ＤＩＳＣ２の４曲目では、オネーチャンたちと一緒に
「しぃゆぅくらいいん♪」
と声をオクターブ上げてつい歌ってしまう。
見事なまでにポップではあるが、こういう感覚はライヴの原点なのだと思う。

ライヴっていうのは、やっぱり楽しいから行くもんだ。
それを一番分からせてくれるのはこのチープ・トリックである。
単なるポップ・グループかと思いきや、ライヴでの演奏もしっかりしているし、彼らは相当数のライヴをこなしている。
そんな彼らのことが分かるアルバム。
やっぱり「甘い罠」はスタジオテイクよりライヴがいい！
