トラフィックの73年のアルバムの紙ジャケ･リマスター盤。前作『ザ･ロウ･スパーク･オブ・~』と同様の変型ジャケの再現はファン待望のもの。内容は、何と言ってもマッスル･ショールズのデヴィッド･フッド (b) とロジャー･ホーキンス (ds) の加入が大きい。名うてのマッスル･ショールズのリズム隊が１つのグループに加わったのはこれが最初で最後。スティーヴ･ウィンウッドの米南部音楽指向とがっちりマッチした形となったこのアルバムは個人的にはトラフィックの最高傑作だと思う。ファンキーなタイトル曲から、最も南部的な大きなうねりを持った長尺な「Roll Away Stones」、クリス･ウッドが大活躍のラテン･ファンク的なインスト曲「Tragic Magic」、ラストのサザン･ソウル的バラード「Uninspired」まで、聴き応えたっぷり。当時の全米アルバム･チャートでも彼らの最高位である６位を獲得。ボーナス･トラックがないのは残念だが、リマスターされた音質（米リマスター盤と同じ）は旧ＣＤに較べ、ふくらみが増したため南部的な図太いサウンドになっている。

前作The Low Spark of High Heeled Boysに引き続きマッスルショールズのミュージシャンを加えての作品。発表当時は芳しくない評価を得た。しかしながら個人的には満足。特にuninspiredはスティーヴィーの数多い曲の中でも屈指の名曲ではないだろうか。
