   画像、データ、システムのどれをとってもリアルさとハマリ度の高さにおいて、他の追随を許さないサッカーシミュレーションゲーム「ウィニングイレブン」シリーズ。2003年度データを収録した7作目だ。

   日本代表選手のほか、世界の強豪国の選手も実名で登場する。また本作では、日本代表選手は公式データを採用しており、選手名やユニフォームだけでなく本物に限りなく近いパラメーターを備えている。データ面でのリアルさのほか、グラフィック、とくにキャラクターのモーションも本作の見どころ。フィールドでの選手の動作だけで、どの選手か分かるほどに各選手の個性が詳細に表現されている。人気のモード「マスターリーグ」も大幅に強化され、今回はヨーロッパを4つのエリアに分割し、そのひとつに所属して戦うことになる。クラブ数が64に増えている点も見逃せない。

   試合に勝つと「WEN」というポイントがもらえ、貯まったポイントに応じてさまざまなおまけと交換できるシステムも追加されたほか、選手のエディットモードでは「モンタージュ機能」でどんな顔でも作成できるようになっている。ウイイレ恒例のイメージキャラクターはブラジルサッカー界の英雄、ジーコ。実況はジョン・カビラ、解説は中西哲生のツートップによって前作の10倍以上の実況、解説パターンが収録されている。

   マルチタップ2を使った最大8人までの対戦モードや初心者向けの練習用のトレーニングモード、上級者には全国ランクに自分の高記録をインプットできる「チャレンジオンライン」を用意。世界に愛されるウイイレで、ぜひ対戦プレイに挑戦してほしい。（江口謙信）

試合バランスが悪いです。サイド攻撃を仕掛けるにしてもクロスボールの弾道がフンワリしてしまって使いにくい。慣れれば問題ないのですが、６ＦＥでサイド攻撃が強すぎたので調整しようと思ったのでしょう。あとゴールまえにディフェンダーが集まりすぎかと。ある程度はいいんですが、今回の場合あまりにいすぎです。
点数は甘めにつけて星３つです。

◆異様なまでに利き足でのキックに拘る件。
◆利き足でない方のキックの精度が著しく低い件。
（コーナー付近からクロスを放ろうとすると、ほぼ確実にゴール裏へ蹴り込んでゴールキックになる）
◆ハンドの判定がピンチを逃れるための救済措置にしか見えない件。
（コンピューターがPA付近まで攻め込まれてピンチだと頻発。シュートがPA内にいる味方に当たると間違いなくハンドの判定）
◆味方DFがハイボールをなかなか前方にクリアしてくれない件。
（余裕があるのにゴールラインに逃げるし、PA内でヘディングで繋いで楽しんでやがる。そして敵にカットされて失点）

他の人が書いてないので気になるのはこんなとこかな。
そろそろ新作が買いたいけど、9の評判が最悪で、その9のレビューの中で「7が一番マシ」と言われてるので、やっぱ7を続けよっと。
