誰もが気がつかないうちに感じているちょっとした思いや気持ちが、彼女の何気ない言葉やメロディーにかかると、心の奥に深く深くしみ込んでいくような気がしてなりません。曲が伝えているものは決して難しくもなんともなく、だからこそ心に強く訴えるのでしょう。これからがとても楽しみなアーティストです。

ミニアルバム『耳をすませば』で正式デビューする前の、それまでに作り貯めた曲を集めた
もの。プレ・デビュー作品でありながら「会いたいだけじゃ」「耳をすませば」等の彼女の代表
曲を含む集大成的な意味合いを持つ一枚です。
女の子の持つ等身大の気持ちを歌った曲が中心ですが、決してその落としどころをセンチ
メンタリズムに求めるのではなく、その先を見据えた芯の強さを感じます。これが良い意味で
後を引かない清清しさに繋がっているように感じ、男性の僕が聴いてもきっちりと心にシンクロ
してきます。
一方で「心配ナシ！！」「うまと仲良く」などの楽しいナンバーもあり、こちらはちょっとおちゃめ
な素の きたはら さんを感じさせるところです。

ヒットチャート曲に代表される派手で一過性のサウンドに "お腹いっぱい" になって癒しが欲
しくなった時、女性ジャズヴォーカルやボサノヴァの軽やかなラウンド・ミュージック系に行く手
もありますが、もう一つの選択肢として、アコースティック弾き語りの気張らずに聴ける作品を
お奨めします。その中でも きたはらいく さんはＴＰＯを選ばずに聴けて、何度聴いても飽きの
来ない長く付き合えるアーティストだと思います。
