演奏　内容　録音　全てにおいて日本ＧＳ最高峰のアルバム。
シングルのヒットナンバーも当時はメンバーに嫌われていたが
今ではスタンダード。オリジナルの「過ぎ去りし恋」は白眉。
もちろんカバーもオリジナルを超越したものばかり
。24ＢＩＴマスタリングはオリジナルＬＰをはるかに凌ぐ高音質。
もう最高です。

　私が小学生高学年から中学生にかけての頃、いろいろなＧＳが出て来て、テレビやラジオで賑わっていました。その中でもザ・ゴールデン・カップスは異色なグループと子供ながら感じていました。
　「巨人の星」というテレビアニメにオーロラ三人娘とかが出てきて「アイラブ・アイラブ・フォアエバ・モア　･･････」とか歌っていました。私はこの曲は「巨人の星」のオリジナルと思っていたのでしたが、後日、二十代前半になってから、勤務先の同僚とこの曲が話題になったとき、「クールな恋」という曲だということを初めて知りました。そして、この曲がザ・ゴールデン・カップスのために作られた曲だったことは、このＣＤを購入して初めて知った次第です。
　第一集の「いとしのジザベル」とともに、この第二集の「長い髪の少女」、「愛する君に」、「クールな恋」を聴くと、楽しい思い出から苦い思い出まで、中学生の頃がなつかしく思い出されます。

１曲目の「ショットガン」からノックアウトです。カッコ良過ぎます。70年代の横浜の不良という、ある種のイメージがありますが、そのイメージをそのまま音に持ち込んだ様は本当に延髄に響きます。でも洋楽のカバーとオリジナルの甘い曲との落差がすさまじく、GSはそういうものだ、と頭の中でわかっていても、なかなか馴染むことができません。カバーのかっこよさは半端ではありません。すごい完成度です。
メンバーもかっこよく、ミッキーもなかなかイイ味を出しております。ロックな要素が盛りだくさんであり、カップス入門には最適なアルバムではないでしょうか。
