バリバリにリアルな、最新型R&Bの歌い手としてアンダーグラウンドで腕を磨いてきた女性シンガー、椿が、メジャー・デビュー曲として選んだのは美空ひばりの有名曲のカヴァー。やりたいことが見えなくて悩みの時期に、この曲の歌詞にインスピレーションを受けて救われたということがあったようで、ある種禁じ手に近い大胆なチャレンジにも関わらず、原曲に忠実なテンポで照れずにていねいに歌っているのが好印象。カップリングもゴスペルの香りがする優しくメロディアスな曲で、ジャンルなど小さなこだわりはなさそうな人だ。 (宮本英夫) --- 2003年09月号

ＮＨＫの番組の終わりに流れてきた「川の流れのように」、聞き惚れてしまいました。
　この軽やかでありながらしっかりとくさびを打ち込むような歌唱力。　歌手は誰？小柳ゆき？と思いつつインターネットでさんざん捜してゲットしました。
　２曲目のＦＲＩＥＮＤＳも,入っているラップがすごくいい感じで気に入りました。

秋元康が、美空ひばりのために書いたあの名曲を、若い女性歌手がR&Bテイストで、歌ってる！ある日コンビニのBGMでこの歌を聴いて、それはそれは驚きました。

ストレートにメロディを歌っているのではなく、椿独特の節回しで歌われるこの歌、そう、ついにこの名曲をR&Bテイストで歌える歌手が現れたのでした。きっとこの歌を誰よりも喜んでいるのは天国の美空ひばりさんだろうな、もしかしたら仕掛け人は秋元康さんかな？

とにかく不思議な浮遊感にあふれた、彼女以外歌えない、2003年8月でないと聞く事ができない、貴重な歌です。

ということで、このCDの存在をはじめて知り、即購入しました。
流れるようなうねるような独特の歌い方が素晴らしい。
もちろん原曲の良さがあってこそではありますが、
じっくりと聴かせてくれます。
是非聴いてみてください。
