   デッド・オア・アライブのエピック時代のシングルを集めたのがこの『Evolution』。収録曲はデビュー曲「Misty Circles」、KC & ザ・サンシャインバンドのカヴァーで彼らにとって初のヒット「Theat's The Way (I Like It)」、ストック・エイトケン＆ウォーターマンのプロデュースによるアメリカでの大ヒット「You Spin Me Round」、そしてセールスはいまいちだった80年代後期のナンバー「Come Home with Me Baby」「Turn Round and Count 2 Ten」（今回はリミックス版を収録）など。初期のヒット曲はジョルジオ・モロダー風豪華アレンジと色っぽいリズムを強調した激しいポップサウンドで、今聴いても新鮮。ピート・バーンズのウィットと派手な風ぼうも同様で、これがイギリスで見向きもされなくなった数年後に日本で大受けしたのだ。(Dominic Wills, Amazon.co.uk)

日本だけでなく、世界中で大ヒットとなったYOU SPIN ME ROUNDをはじめ、SOMETHING IN MY HOUSE,AND COUNT 2 TENなど大ヒット曲多数収録。また、ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑとは違ったeditで収録された曲も多数あるので、ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑを持っている人にもオススメ度大です！！

今までベスト版が出ていなかったのが不思議なくらいで、どれを聴いてもヒット曲で覚えのある曲ばかり。
欲を言えば、「D.J.ヒット・ザット・バトン」と「サン・オブ・ア・ガン」も入れて欲しかった。
この次は１２インチバージョン集を期待します

全盛期にリアルタイムで聴いていた（踊っていた）者として、このＣＤ発売時はワクワクドキドキものでした。と言うのも輸入版と違い、国内盤は”当時のヴァージョンにこだわって収録”と言ううたい文句から全曲”シングルヴァージョン”で収録されのでは！？と期待していたのです。一部楽曲（１、３、１０、１５）は期待通りのシングルヴァージョンで収録されましたが（でもこれらは輸入版も同じ）、他の楽曲はアルバムヴァージョンだったり、アルバムまたは１２ｉｎｃｈヴァージョンのエディットヴァージョンだったり・・・・・人それぞれ賛否両論あるかと思いますが、個人的には全曲７ｉｎｃｈレコードやシングルＣＤに収録されたヴァージョンで聞きたかったなぁ〜と言う思いが強く残念です。結局今現在も当時のシングルヴァージョンを聞くためにはＥＰ盤（レコード）じゃないと聞けない楽曲（８等）もあり、多分今後もＣＤ化される事はないんでしょうね。”聞く”だけでなく”踊っていた”思い出もあるので１２ｉｎｃｈヴァージョンもＣＤ化して欲しいけど・・・・・もっと無理？選曲もアルバム「ユースクエイク」〜「ヌード」迄の３枚からの楽曲メインで選曲して欲しかった・・・・・また新たなＣＤ出る事少しだけ期待してます。
