　ロキシーでの名演ライブが遂に発売です。
このロキシーのライブは、『ボブ・マーリー』（昌文社）という本の中でも、
珠玉の名演として挙げられ、ボブ・ディランが観客の中にいたというライブです。

　名盤「LIVE!」が、テンポが走り、たたみ掛ける様な演奏で、聴き手のテンションを上げてくれたものだったのに対し、このロキシー盤は、テンポが走らず、地に足が付いたしっかりとした演奏で、ライブが後半に入るにつれ、徐々に聴き手に興奮を与えてくれるものではないでしょうか。

　ボブの歌はもちろんのこと、名手アール･チナ･スミスのファンク風のリズムギター、バレット兄弟のタイトなリズムセクションに、タイロンの縦横無尽のキーボード、そしてドンのブルージーなリードギターと、非の打ち所がない演奏です。
　個人的な聴き所は、バレット兄弟の生ダブが聴けるwant more、観客と一体となったroots rock reggae、そしてアンコールのget up stand up~です。特に、20分にも及ぶget up stand up~のno more troubleからwarへと変わる瞬間は鳥肌が立つほどでした。
　
　ぜひ、これからもシリーズ化し続けて欲しい企画です。

ディスク１は『ラスタマン・ヴァイブレイション』のデラックス・エディションの
ボーナスディスクにも収められたライブです。
更にアンコールの「ポジティブ・ヴァイブレーション」「ゲット・アップ・スタンド・アップ」メドレーを追加。
他のどの公式盤でも聞かれないほど粘っこくソウルフルなグルーブだと思います。

「トレンチタウン・ロック」「ライブリー・アップ・ユアセルフ」「ノー・ウーマン・ノー・クライ」
ライブでも定番のこれらの曲は公式盤のなかではここでのライブが一番好きです。
しかし圧巻はやはりクライマックスの「ゲット・アップ~」メドレー。
妖しげな音を出すキーボードと相まって恐ろしく崇高な高み？へと誘ってくれます。
20分の長尺演奏ですが、音に身を委ねているだけで当然時間はあっという間に過ぎてしまいます。

自分はレゲエはあまり聞かない人間でしたが、これを聞いて開眼しました。
レゲエが苦手だと思っているロック、ソウル好きにもとてもとっつきやすいアルバムだと思います。

ちまたで有名な『ライブ』に比べて、演奏が走らずレゲエ感を出せているのがこちらの作品！レゲエ調のロックを聴きたいのなら『ライブ』のほうがいいでしょうが、レゲエとして聴きたいのであれば、こちらがオススメだと思いますよ☆
