今春発売された子供向け英語アルバム『アイ・リメンバー』も好評なコニシキの新作は、スラック・キー・ギターの名手、山内雄喜をプロデューサーに迎えて作った全編ハワイアンのアルバム。コニシキ本人の自作曲や「この素晴らしき世界」「見上げてごらん夜の星を」といった名曲を含む全11曲を、大きな身体そのままのゆったりしたヴォーカルで歌っている。明るくユーモラスなキャラクターが素直に表現された嫌味のない歌唱と、心地よいハワイアン・メロディがマッチして、聴き進むうちにホノボノとした雰囲気に包まれていく。 (飯塚達弘) --- 2003年08月号

シンプリーに続いて聞いたコニシキさんのアルバムでした。有名なハワイアンソングのカバーあり、坂本九さんの曲のカバーはとても心にしみる暖かさを感じました。ハワイの言葉、英語、少しの日本語とコニシキさんらしい素敵なアルバムです。
