日本の音楽シーンにおいてこれほど知名度と認識度の落差があるバンドはないかもしれない。
デーモン小暮のいたグループ、「蝋人形の館」っていう迷曲を歌っていたバンド、それ位にしか思われていない。
事実、この２枚のＣＤの中にヒット曲と呼ばれるものは皆無に等しい。
紅白歌合戦出場の際に歌った「白い奇蹟」か、唯一のベスト10入りした「BAD AGAIN~美しき反逆」といった程度だろう。

20年近い活動期間がありながら、これ程までに音楽的に評価されていないのだから悔しい！
確かに、暑苦しい、重苦しい、恩着せがましいの三拍子揃った曲も多々ある（笑）。
だが、それ以上に素晴らしい楽曲が沢山あるのに・・・。

そんな曲を是非この入門編から見つけ出して欲しい。
そして既に解散してしまっている事を改めて悔やんで欲しい！
「もっと早く聴いてれば良かった・・・」と。

聖飢魔IIらしいテクニカルでハードな曲が揃っているのですごくカッコいい。
入門教典とはいうものの、内容はかなり信者好みな内容。
しかし「蝋人形の館」の悪魔イメージしか持っていない信者以外の人に聴いてもらって、聖飢魔IIのバンドとしての凄さを、このＣＤで分かってもらえたらいいですね。

では、教典をすべて聴いている信者に対してこのＣＤの価値はどこにあるのか。
大教典初収録の「赤い玉の伝説(REMASTER VERSION)」があることと、SONY時代とBMG時代の混合選曲といった部分か。
ただし「1999 BLACK LIST」と重複しているSONY時代の曲は、「1999 BLACK LIST」のヴァージョン、つまり録り直したものが収録されているのでご承知のほどを。

　「20世紀狂詩曲」に思わず笑ってしまった。現代日本の不条理と悲哀を描いたすさまじい曲であった。今だからこそ活きてくる悪魔の教えに耳を傾けてみよう。
