'80年代末期に｢LUP OF LUXURY」が大ヒットし、低迷時代を抜け出したCHEAP TRICK。
このアルバムは勢いに乗ったCHEAP TRICKが、前作に引き続き外部ライターをふんだんに利用して制作した作品だ。

ゆえに｢CHEAP TRICKらしくない｣と感じるオールド・ファンもいるかもしれない。
しかしキャッチーで親しみやすい曲を作ることがCHEAP TRICKの本義だとすれば、このアルバムもその路線からは外れていない。
楽曲の質が非常に高いので、素直な気持ちでアルバムに接すればきっと楽しめるはず。

隠れた名盤。

今回は自前で曲を用意している。それだけに「BIG BANG」の様な「らしい」ナンバーが嬉しい。しかし、である。サウンドプロダクション的にはやはりズィトー先生のプロデュースが前面に出ているのだ。前作はそれでも大ヒットした事で結果オーライだったが、今回はそうでなかった。彼らは葛藤した筈だ。(このままでいいのか・・・いや、狙ってもいい結果が出ないのなら本来のサウンドに戻すべきでは・・・)。そして彼らは古巣エピックを離れ、新天地ワーナーブラザースで「蒼い衝動」を制作する事になる・・・。「CAN'T〜」は全盛期に匹敵する涙の名曲デスよ。

#1では高校の先生に恋しちゃう男の子、#2ではディスコで誘った女の子に思い切り「ノー！」と言われてしまう男の子、
#3ではかの有名なブリトニーに恋している男の子…そんなティーンエイジャーだからこそ書けるような曲を彼らはつくっています。
残念ながら解散してしまいましたが、イギリスのポップ・ロック史に大きな足跡を残したバンドです。

サウンドはポップでロック、キャッチーでハーモニーもいい感じです！おすすめ★
