   映画『デアデビル』のサウンドトラック盤は、それまで無名だったアーカンソー州リトル・ロック出身のこの4人組にとって格好の起爆剤となった。エヴァネッセンスの手がけた曲、「My Immortal」と印象的な「Bring Me to Life」は、映画の中でも明らかに際立っていた。物語の基調となる劇的で不気味な雰囲気をうまくとらえていたのが勝因だろう。そのエヴァネッセンスが、今度はデビュー・アルバムで再登場。やはり沈んだトーンのトラックが多く、トーリ・エイモスやクランベリーズといったメランコリックなアーティストたちを引き合いに出したくなる。ヴォーカルのエイミー・リーは、何週間も眠れなくなりそうな声を聴かせるが、「Tourniquet」や「Haunted」のような曲では違和感がある。これらの曲は、不吉なムードと同じぐらい強い精神性を持っており、嵐の中にいくばくかの光を投げかける思慮深さを感じさせるからだ。（Aidin Vaziri, Amazon.com）

試聴した瞬間、シビレるほど「カッチョイイ！」と思ってしまいました。
その場で輸入盤を買おうとしましたが、国内盤はＤＶＤ付きで
後日発売ということで、我慢しました。
私が四の五の言うより、
とにかく試聴してみてほしい、ほんとに注目したいグループです。

試聴して即買いしてしまいました。
個人的には１-GOING UNDERから2-BRING ME TO LIFEの流れと
4-MY IMMORTALが好きです。
最初Evanescenceはリンキンっぽいっていわれてたのでチェックしたんですが、
アルバム全体聴くとそうでもないかなあ。

でもとにかくエイミーの声がすごく良いです！！カッコ良い！！
これからもっと良くなっていくバンドだと思います。

買って損はないですよ！！

このアルバム収録曲を数曲試聴した時にメロディが忘れられず購入しました。

結論から言うと最高です！！

ダークなサウンドってピンと来ないかもしれないけれど、音楽とボーカルのエイミーの伸びる声合ってる。それに彼女不思議にキレイ！＾＾；
歌声に陶酔してしまいます。

私個人としては宇多田ヒカルの声には似てないと思います。
音楽性が違うので宇多田ファン＝このバンドのファンにはならないと思います。
久しぶりに見つけた女性ボーカルのロック。
聞いていて全然飽きません。

アマゾンでは限定発売盤は品切れのようですが、
通常盤は2003年8月にでますので持ってない人は要チェックですね。
HR、HM、ROCKファンにはチェックしてもらいたい作品です。
大型新人といっても過言じゃないち?しょう。
