ニューヨーク出身の４人組である「Rooney」は、「Weezer」ばりのパワー・ポップ・サウンドと「Blur」あたりの良質ブリティッシュ・スタイルのメロディを同時に体現する、そのあたりのファンには夢のようなバンドといえるでしょう。結成は２０００年、彼らがまだ大学生の頃でした。学業の合間を縫ってリハーサルを行い、ライヴ・デビューは２００２年になってから。ヴォーカリストRobert Carmineの兄が在籍する「Phantom Planet」のサポート・アクトとしてツアーを回ります。その後、プロデューサーに「Psychedelic Furs」等を手がけたKeith Forseyを迎え、制作されたのがこのデビュー・アルバムなのですが、コレが正にデビュー・アルバムの理想形といっていいほどに、若々しさと瑞々しさ満載のポップ・アルバムとなっています。程よくノイジーで気持ちよく伸びていくギター・サウンド、効果的に配されたキーボ-ド、元気いっぱいにパワフルなドラム、そして青臭くて青春の香りがプンプンする、活きのいい高音めなヴォーカルで歌われる、明るくて時に切ない素晴らしいメロディの数々。そしてその魅力的なメロディは、アメリカのバンドなのに、ブリティッシュ・ポップの良心的な雰囲気が色濃くて、不変な輝きを放っているかのようです。とにもかくにもこのアルバム、出来すぎな位にいいです。本当に兄弟バンドである「Phantom Planet」同様、若いのに素晴らしい歌心を持ったバンド。すでに名盤の声も！

最初ジャケットやネットの写真を見て
いまどきマッシュルームみたいな髪型で服装も古いバンドだなーって思っていました。でも買って聞いてみたらけっこういい曲でびっくりしました。
でも曲は全体的にスローテンポなものが多かった気がします。
でも声もリズムも私にはすごくよく聴こえました。
これがメジャーデビュー一作目のCDなら次回作が楽しみです。

私は５番目のPOPSTARっていう曲がお気に入りです。
文章表現力がないので、的確に表現できないのですが（＾＾；）
なんか壮大な感じで、聞いててせつなくなるというか
心が揺さぶられました。いい曲です☆

CDはパソコンに入れると、ライブ映像が見ることができます。
でも、ライブ映像はなんだか、あんまりかっこよくなかったかも

リズムの取り方が独特というか、動き方が変でした・・・
見た友達もみんなそういってました。

でも自分達のスタイル（髪型や服装など）時代からはずれているように見えるんですが、でも自分の好きなものを貫いてるっていう
感じがしてかっこいいです。

基盤となるｻｳﾝﾄはｵｰｿﾄﾞｯｸｽでｼﾝﾌﾟﾙなｷﾞﾀｰﾎﾟｯﾌﾟの印象を受けるが、
良く聴くとﾆｭｰｳｪｰﾌﾞ色のあるｷｰﾎﾞｰﾄﾞｱﾚﾝｼﾞ、ﾘﾌやﾌﾚｰｽﾞの滑稽さがＰＯＰでｶﾗﾌﾙな演出をしている。
もちろんｷｬｯﾁｰなﾒﾛﾃﾞｨ、ｺｰﾗｽも親しみ易く、口ずさめる点のﾎﾟｲﾝﾄも高い。

ﾒﾝﾊﾞｰも男前で、最近の流行：ﾚｲﾄﾞﾊﾞｯｸしたﾙｯｸｯｽもｲｶす。
ﾊﾟﾜｰや勢いが出てくると星5つということで次回作に期待。
お買い得な値段も魅力です。↑今が買い？
