   蓬莱＝日本から流され、才国の女仙のもとでつらい日々を送る鈴。圧制を行った父王が謀反により殺され、市井で生きる祥瓊。そして、鈴と同様に蓬莱からたどりつき、この世界の仕組みもよくわからないままに景国の王となった陽子。

どうしても異世界を表現しようとすれば主人公の周り以外、なにか生きていない感じをうけるものですがこの作品はまさに皆が生きて考えて動いている・・そんな印象を受けます。「月の影　影の海」では陽子中心で動いていたのに対し、今回は陽子を含め３人の娘が中心で動くものの、そのなかでは複数の想いが動きそれが描かれている作品です。映像はやや不満があるもののそれはテレビアニメなので仕方がないのですが、うまい場面まわしで小林監督のすごさを感じます。ストーリーは文句なしです。この作品は現代社会、特に学校や社会に出る問題そのままのことで主人公達が悩み苦しみ、自分なりの答えを出していきます。小野不由美先生の原作を読んでいる人でも楽しめます。小説そのままのストーリーでも自分達が想像した場面がアニメーションで出てくると感動が2.3倍になります。言葉一つ一つに重みがあるのでぜひ、一度観て下さい。見た後、なにか得るものがあるかもしれません。

僕は、講談社文庫の方で、この「十二国記」であったんですが、この挿絵が、凄くいいと思いませんでしたか？。偉大なる王とその仲間って感じで、すげーイメージ湧きますよね。服装もすごくかっこいいし。中国系ファンタジーのデザインんよい服装って、あまりみないんですよね。
