   チャンスをつかもうと頑張る娘にいちゃもんをつけるのは酷というものだ。セールスの減少を経験した後のジュエルは前向きな姿勢を示し、メイクと芸風を一新した。ただし、この愛すべき歌姫が未知の領域に跳びこんだのは、この『0304』が初めてではない。シャキーラのプロデューサーであるレスター・A・メンデスの起用により、ジュエルらしいまじめなフォーク調の作風にポップな輝きといくぶんかのダンス・ビートが加味されている本作だが、彼女がアン・リー監督の映画『楽園をください』に南北戦争時代の未亡人役で主演したときのラジカルさにはかなわない。しかし、ぴったりとした胴着とフープ・スカート姿で歩き回るジュエルを銀幕で観るよりも、先鋭的で大言壮語な内容を持つ寓話「Intuition」でアコーディオン・ソロに乗って持ち前の伸びやかで清潔感のある声を押しつぶすような発声をしたり、ビートの効いた「America」でブッシュ政権を糾弾したりする彼女を聴くほうがずっと興味深いのだ。

   曲の構造やサウンドを根本から変えたとはいえ、ジュエルの明白な才能は光を失っていない。ジュエルの話術はあいかわらず巧妙だし、その声はアラスカの小川のように汚れのないままだ。（Jaan Uhelszki, Amazon.com）

POPな内容には違いないですが、それぞれの楽曲の完成度は高いのではないでしょうか。最近、一番繰り返し聞くことが多いアルバムです。
中でも「2 Find U」は素晴らしい作品ではないでしょうか。シンセの雰囲気たっぷりのアンビエントの中、呟くような歌唱。不安な女性の心のひだ、コーラス部でのビート感と繊細さとの融合。ライナーノーツによると、本人も「この曲を歌うとき心が痛む」とコメントしています。

３曲目のシングルカットもされてる『intuition』が最高にいい。スローなダンス・チューンで哀愁漂う旋律と今までの彼女と違った魅力をまた一つ発見できたような喜びがありました。かといって地で持つ軽やかな中にも、シャンソンのような情熱が感じられる不思議な魅力も健在で溜息がもれます。自分の売りを認識しつつ、新たな挑戦を続けている感じが見受けられました。今後にも大いに期待したいと思います。
