より豊かで明るいプロダクションとなっているが、オリジナルとの間に「音楽上の微妙な違い」を出そうとしているところは、リチャード・ブランソンの熱気球旅行にかける夢にも似て、あいかわらずばかばかしさと紙一重の執念を感じさせ、ある意味ホッとさせてくれる。細かい差異が確認できるのは確かだ――ベース・ギターの音量が大きくなり、バグパイプの響きが鮮明になり、いつ聴いても楽しい「原始人」のセクションではサリー・オールドフィールド（と思われる女性）がマイクとともにうなり声をあげ、フィナーレではジョン・クリースがナレーターを務めている（北欧の憂愁という言葉がぴったりの彼の声は、「ダブル・スピード・ギター」とアナウンスが入る段になって初めて聴くことができる）。しかし総評としては、偉大なオリジナルの地位はいまだ揺るがず、新たに生まれたものはいまだない、ということになる。（Kevin Maidment, Amazon.co.uk）
