すいません、朝比奈、小澤、チェビリダッケ、ストコフスキーより
私には数段上の完成された演奏に思えました。
ただムラビンスキーの演奏はまだ視聴しておりません。
私には、ロシア過ぎる演奏は好ましくなく、この曲は過剰にダイナミックに演奏すると、ほのかな叙情が崩れ去り、
ゆっくり過ぎる演奏も駄目！

すなわち　適度な抑制を要すれば、良いようです？１番交響曲のようであり、かつダイナミックさもある程度要求される曲で大変、
中庸の演奏が難しいと思いました。
デュトワの演奏に相当の感動が得られました。

音の魔術師デュトワと、
彼が25年間も芸術監督をつとめた
モントリオール交響楽団によるチャイコフスキー。

決してパワフルなわけでも
技巧的であるわけでもないのだが
豊かな叙情性が堪能できる一枚だ。

　モントリオール交響楽団は「フランス的なオーケストラ」と言われますが、ロシア音楽にも抜群の相性を示します。デュトワは持ち前のセンスとバランス感覚でこのオーケストラを統制し、力強さを保ちつつ、クリアーな響きをつくりあげています。ソロの巧さも抜群で、特に第２楽章の有名なホルン・ソロは数多くの同曲の演奏を聴いてきましたが、ベストといえる素晴らしいものです。
　デュトワはこの録音で、何も特別なことはせず、曲をありのままに聴き手に示してくれています。プラス・アルファの解釈を期待する人にはつまらない演奏かもしれませんが、チャイ５の曲それ自体を十分に堪能できる演奏です。録音もすこぶる良好で、リファレンス盤としては最高の演奏といえるでしょう。
