ハインツ・ホリガーは、私が最初にオーボエの音のとりこになった時のオーボエ奏者であった。アルビノー二だったが、このモーツァルトとリヒャルト・シュトラウスでも、さえ渡った演奏を披露してくれる。ただし私はシュトラウスがあまり好きでないので真面目に聴いていないことをお許しいただきたい。モーツァルトの曲は、日本ではやっているクラシック漫画「のだめカンタービレ」で「くろきん」こと黒木君がコンクールでの失敗のあと、この協奏曲で聴衆を魅了しまくるシーンがある。のだめカンタービレという漫画は面白く、その巻ごとに登場する音楽を列挙している偉大なウェブサイトもあるが、それらの曲の中でも、このオーボエ協奏曲はとりわけ推薦したい一枚である。

天才ホリガーの決定盤だと思います。モーツァルトの協奏曲はこのように演奏してほしいなと思うそのままが具現化されています。ただし後押し・・・音がスタートしてから息を入れて膨らませる独特の表現がお気に召さない方には不向きです。また金属的なペラペラな音ですので、美音を求める方にも不向きです。「音楽」を聴く一枚だと思います。

名手ホリガーや人口に膾炙されたるモーツアルトの名品について述べると蛇足になるので、シュトラウスのことを。
然りながら齢80を超えたシュトラウス(正に20世紀前半のモーツアルト)のオーボエ協奏曲もまた、作曲家の自画自賛さもありなんと言うべき隠れも無い名品、類希なる神品のひとつ。
「のだめ」経由でこの盤に巡り合った幸運な方はぜひ、静かな部屋で心静かに耳を傾けてみて下さい。弦の囁きに始まり流れ出る簡素簡潔簡明な動機や素材から紡ぎ出される玄妙で流麗な響き。憧憬と哀愁。
お口に合わなければおそらく通俗名曲の方がお好みに合うでしょう(それが悪いと言うのではありません)。何かしら琴線に触れた方、険しくも気高い山地へようこそ。
