フランスから来たネオクラシカルメタルの新星アルケミスト。
ヴォーカルにはシークレット・スフィアでおなじみのロベルト・メッシーナ！

最初はドタバタした感じの楽曲、ロベルトのハイトーンが魅力的に聴こえないアレンジ、やや単純なリフ等などハマリきれない感じがしたのだが・・・。

聞き込めば慣れてきて、間合いや独特なドラム、変則的なリズムなどの魅力に取り付かれ今ではヘヴィーローテーション（笑）
まぁ一応ストレートな感じがしなかったので星は４つかな？
でもとりあえずお薦め♪
悶絶はチト厳しいかも？
好盤かなヽ('ー｀)ノ

4.0 out of 5 stars 若干のクセがあるが、いいアルバム。, 2007/2/1
今回紹介するのは、フランス産メロディック・パワーメタルバンド、ALKEMYSTのメジャー・デビュー作。
バンドとしては３枚目の作品になるようだが、過去作品は未聴のため、今作が初体験となるが、コレがナカナカの出来栄えで満足度は割と高め。

ヴォーカルを務めるのは、イタリアン・メロディック・メタルバンドSECRET　SPHEREのロベルト・メッシーナ。相変わらず線が細いながらも、キチンとメロディを歌い上げており、まあ聴ける。

しかしこのバンド、楽器陣の演奏力がなかなかのモノで、特にドラムスは、音造りがフュージョン寄りでパワー感には乏しく聴こえるものの、必要にして十分のテクニックを持っている。

時にプログレッシヴな展開を持たせながらも、あくまで明快でしなやかなメロディを疾走させるスタイルは、ヴォーカルのせいもあってSECRET　SPHEREとかぶる点も多い。

ジャケはかなりダサいが、イタリア系のスピード・メタル好きにはウケるサウンドだろう。

もはやお決まりのイントロ＃１“Spells＆Elixirs”から始まる＃４“Up　To　Heaven's　Gate”までの疾走チューン連打が強力だね。
