今や音楽好きで知らぬ者はいないくらい人気のクレイジーケンバンド（CKB）ですが、意外とこの2ndアルバムの話題を目にしないです。
確かに他のアルバムに比して地味な感じがするかもしれないけれど、聴けば聴くほど味わえる「スルメ」のような作品だと思います。

2曲目の「昼下がり」、歌詞に出てくる『炎の料理人　周兄弟』を知らぬ人はあまりいないでしょうが、後世の人が聴いてもピンと来ないでしょうね。今だから楽しめる「旬」の曲かもしれません。

今どきCKBを「昭和歌謡」のジャンルで捉える人はいないでしょうが、CKBの「黒さ」を体験していない方に1stアルバム「PUNCH!PUNCH!PUNCH!」と併せてお奨めしたい「隠れた名盤」です。

クレイジー・ケンズ・ワールドから以降、フルアルバムは全て聴いてますが、
これが一番です。個人的に。かっこいいし、味もある。
洗練されすぎていないところがまたよいのです。

一曲目の「金魚鉢」の脱力インストでこける人もいるかもしれませんが
（私も初めて聴いたときはそうでした）この曲のフレーズは、その後、
ＣＫＢ関連作品の中で度々顔を出します。それだけ思い入れがあるのでしょう。最近だとマツケンサンバのリミックス盤でもこの曲がベースになっていました。

で、以降、「昼下がり」のねっとりファンク＆日常諧謔歌詞にヤラれ、
「箱根パノラマ・ゴー・ゴー」で腰が動き、
「ハワイの夜」をカラオケで歌い、
「ＳＥＸ　ＷＡＸ」でサックスにしびれ、
「松並木ストラット」の切なさに浸り、
「ベレット1600ＧＴ」ですっきりイけます。

ＣＫＢ、どれか一つと言われたら、いろいろご意見はあるでしょうが、
私はコレです。
他も好きですけどね、もちろん。

「パンチ！パンチ！パンチ！」から「SOUL PUNCH」までCDを全部買いましたが、私はこれが最高です！！今のクレイジーの原点ではないかと思う。どこかで聞いた事あるな〜（邦楽、洋楽問わず）と思いつつ、つい引き込まれ、くちずさんでしまう。とにかくイイネ！！！
