   2002年7月、フランスのアンティーブ・ジャズ祭におけるライヴ録音。2000年の『インサイド・アウト』、2001年の『オールウェイズ・レット・ミー・ゴー』と、スタンダーズ・トリオの近作はグループ名と違ってフリー・インプロヴィゼーション物が2作続いけど、これは本来のスタイルによるスタンダード曲集。これまでのアルバムでもやっていた得意のレパートリーがずらりと並んでいて、いかにおなじみのスタンダードを斬新（ざんしん）にプレイするかという、古くて新しい課題に真正面から取り組んでいる。スタンダードを演奏する場合、原曲の持つ味わいを殺してはいけない。かといって、誰がやっているのかわからないような演奏では意味がない。そこらあたりが厄介な問題なのだが、キースのトリオはそうした難題をいとも簡単にクリアしている。3者の緊密なインタープレイがなんといっても最大の聴きもの。選曲面ではジョン・ルイスの<6>をやっているのがま新しい。そして目玉曲<7>は後半のオリジナルが最高にスリリングだ。（市川正二）

本作では何故かゲーリー・ピーコックのベースがとても目立つ。スタンダーズ全部の中でも一番冴えまくった演奏をしている。『Butch & Butch』あたりの指さばきなどは、何故かペデルセンのそれを連想してしまった。

素晴らしい彼等の今の音楽に言葉を失い、ただ聴き続けていたい気持ちでいっぱいだ。買って一生持っていて、大事な人にも紹介したい一枚だ。

近年の作品のなかでも高い一般的評価を得ているアルバムだ。

私が持っているキース･ジャレットは即興ソロが中心だが、トリオ編成での軽快なスウィング感が素晴らしいこれも一聴して気に入った。

モチーフはスタンダード曲ということで、リラックスした場面もあるが、緊張感をみなぎらせた奔放な演奏を繰り広げつつも、それを決して難解ではない美しいフレーズとして聞かせる手腕がやはり真骨頂、さすがだ。
