実は原作者の方を全く知りませんでした。公開中は一日一回の上映時間に泣き（つまり観ていない）、それでもDVDを買ったのは、書評の良さと女優陣の顔ぶれの安心感から。例え脚本がヘボでも役者で観ればいいやという・・
　全くの杞憂でした。

　大御所と呼ばれる女流作家の自殺と、彼女に係わりのある５人の女たちがひとつのテーブルを囲んで、「あれは本当に自殺だったのか？」という疑問を語り合う。やがて彼女に関する様々な秘密が各人の口から語られ始め・・・

　誰もが怪しいようで、誰もが無実のような。安楽椅子探偵もののような謎解きと、次第に明らかになる死せる女流作家の素顔。ストーリィの流れはほぼ原作どおりです。(観た後読みました)

　原作小説ファンに薦めたいのは、原作にないもう!一捻りが最後の最後に入るから。ネタバレになるので書きませんが、死した作家役の浅丘ルリ子が実に実に素晴らしい。脚本家にも拍手！

女流作家・重松時子の死は自殺か他殺か？
時子を取り巻く編集者や血縁関係にある女流作家たちが年に一度、時子が住んでいた「うぐいす館」に集まる。
時子と共に暮らし、時子死後も「うぐいす館」に住む編集者のえい子が、女流作家たちに様々な手料理をご馳走するのだが、その料理の魅力的なこと。
料理に舌鼓を打ち、ワインを楽しみつつ展開される彼女たちの会話は、とてもスリリングで、引き込まれる。

私は原作は読んでいないが、独特な静けさの流れるこの映画が大好きだ。
あのワクワクするような料理と、不思議な雰囲気に惹かれて、何度も繰り返し観てしまう。
料理のレシピが特典映像に紹介されているのもポイントアップ。
