最近久しぶりに会った知人から”いくら好きでもあまりカテゴリを絞った聴き方は良くない”と釘を刺されてしまいました。確かに、”これっ！”と思うアーティストに出会うと、そのままその周辺に長く留まってしまうのが私の性癖のようで、、、。とは言え、全く変化しないかと言えばそうでもなく、差し詰め、今回手を出した本作（'71年作品）のように、すこしロック色が強めのジャズ・ロックもとても新鮮に響きました（またズルズル行ってしまうかも(^^;）。
同じようなカテゴリ？として、最近、M.ウェストブルックの作品も聴いたのですが、先述のように、ロック的要素の含有度では本作の方がより高いようです。更に言えば、ロック的要素のみならず、部分部分ではクラシック的要素も多いのですね。
となれば、同時期に活躍した他の所謂プログレッシヴ系、キングクリムゾンとか、にも似た匂いはあるでしょう。が、クリムゾンと対比すると、今度はジャズ的要素の強さが際立ってくるのです。
I.カー（tp、flgh）その人は元々ジャズのコンテキストで活躍していた人らしいので然もありなん、、、となるのでしょうが、実にいいセンスでロック的アプローチを展開したものだと思います（個人的には[5]のカッコよさに脱帽）。

現代音楽的なアレンジもあり、キングクリムゾンが好きなら気に入ると思う。
