鈴木光司のベストセラー小説を元にした、真田広之, 松嶋菜々子主演のホラーです。日本のホラー映画ブームのさきがけとなった作品でしょう。ビデオを見ると、7日以内に死ぬ、という内容も衝撃的ですが、その後明らかになる、貞子のたどった運命が昭和のはじめの混乱した時代を反映して、不気味さを煽ります。貞子の映像は何度見ても怖い、ホラー・ファンにはお奨めの作品です。

基本的に、ホラー映画は嫌いだ。
いや怖いものは全部嫌いという方が正確かな。原作が鈴木光司氏ということでついつい観てしまった。
（ちなみに氏は「楽園」というラブ大河ロマンでメジャーデビューしている）

観た後は後悔しまくった。

怖い、怖い、怖いのである。

信じ易い性質というか迷信深い性質なので、観終わった後は、ネット上で知らない人々にこの作品を観るようにすすめまくった私は、製作者側の罠にはまっていたともいえる。
お見事な作品である。（観るなと書いたけど、観る人がいるんだろうな~。）
