 「週刊少年ジャンプ」に連載され、全国のバスケット部入部希望者の数を飛躍的に増大させた、井上雄彦による同名マンガを原作としたTVアニメーション。
   頭は悪く一見恐ろしいが、実は気のいい高校一年生・桜木花道。入学後すぐに一目惚れした女の子・ハルコさんがバスケットボール部をすすめたために、全くルールも知らないにもかかわらず入部。しかし素人ながらもその才能を引き出し、みるみるうちに上達していく姿を、実に軽快に描いていく。

スラムダンクといえば、ミッチー。
そのミッチーのユニホームまでついてるという超レア商品。
レンタルビデオ店に行っても、スラムダンクのビデオはなかったので、すっごく待望だったんですよね。。。
買って、損はしないと思います。
貯金をして、是非、購入しましょう！！

最近では各地方限定で再放送や
衛星、キッズステーションなどで再放送はされてたが
レンタルなどではビデオも出ておらず
めったに見られなくなりましたがようやくDVD-BOXにて
発売が決定し、久しぶりに全話通して見られる日が来ますね~(^-^)
ですが残念な部分ではやはりインターハイ編直前で終了してしまい

肝心なインターハイ編がアニメ化されていないとゆう点でしょうか
なので今回のテレビシリーズのDVD-BOX発売が元となり
アニメ化されていないインターハイ編がOVAなどで出てくれたら
スラムダンクファンにとっては大変嬉しい事ではないでしょうか？
是非ともインターハイ編もアニメ化してほしいですね♪

この漫画が与えた影響というものは計り知れないと思う。自分の母校でもバスケ部希望が続出し、日本全国でもその数はうなぎ上りになったという。日本だけでなく、中国、韓国、台湾でもその人気はドラゴンボールとならんで日本の代表的漫画として受け入れられている。この漫画の内容だが、始めから終わりまで一部の無駄もなく、怒涛の流れで突っ走っている。この漫画自体の構成が、湘北得意のラン＆ガン・オフェンスのようである。中核となるメンバーの五人の内一人でも欠けていたらこの漫画は成り立たないのでは？というくらい、それぞれのキャラクターが生きている。頭は悪く、喧嘩っぱやいが誰よりも負けず嫌いで努力家の桜木。ほとんど会話をすることがないが、高校バスケットボール界でも生粋の実力を持つ流川。チームメイトに恵まれず、しかしそれでも全国制覇の夢を毎晩見続けていた、統率力抜群のキャプテン、ゴリ。超不良でありながら、マネージャー・彩子を思い続ける純粋さも持ち、問題を起こしながらも再び湘北に戻ってきた、リョーチン。そして、足の不調で一度はバスケの夢をあきらめかけ不良に陥ったが、恩師安西先生とのたくさんの思い出のもと、プライドもすべて捨てて湘北に舞い戻った、元中学ＭＶＰスリーポイント・シューターの三井。湘北高校でのたった三ヶ月のストーリーだが、何度も笑わされ、何度も泣かされ、感動させられた。バスケの試合一つ一つ良くできていて、湘北がピンチの時は本当にドキドキさせられる。あたかも自分がその試合に参加しているかのように、メンバー一人一人の気持ちが伝わってくるのだ。アニメの方も漫画並みにできはよく、個人的にテーマソングがお気に入りなので、これは絶対に買いでしょう！ほとんどの人がすでに見ていると思いますが、見てない人、必見ですよ！
