国内外のアーティストと組んで作りこんだ前作「マドリガル」とは全く違い、charaの音楽を作る際の「初期衝動」を壊さないように作った作品。
だから、声もぶれていたり、裏返っていたり。自身による演奏もリズムがくずれていたり。
いびつで、他のアーティストならＯＫにしないようなところも、charaならではのあたたかさとうつくしさが漂う。

今までのポップな派手さはないけれど、charaというアーティストの凄さがあらわれたアルバムかもしれない。

リラックスしたマイペースな仕上がり。肩の力がいい具合に抜けて音数も少な目で耳障りのよい物静かなアレンジだ。このアルバムには以前のアルバムにあった特有の“翳り”みたいなものがなく、屈託がなくなった。どことなくファンタジックで幻想的ですらある。方向性としては「strange fruits」に近いが、むこうがディープならこちらはいたってライト。ほのぼのとした温かみに満ちたアルバム。

個人的にはChara、ここまできたか！って感じの１枚。好みから言うと前作「マドリガル」やその前の「Strange Fruits」の方が好きではあるんだけど、「夜明けまえ」ってタイトルがぴったりの、このアルバムのすごさといったら・・・！ごくシンプルにつくられた音楽（つくられたっていう気がしない、自然に出てきた、流れてきたって感じのすごくナチュラルでシンプルな音）、実にCharaらしい、けど大人（？）って感じのリリック。Charaの夜明けまえを堪能しつつ、自分の夜明けまえを感じるような１枚なのです。のっけの「Beautiful Day」から魅せられてください。
