今まで、家事をする時には、ジプシー・キングスなどかけて
ガンガンこなしていたのですが、今日、アン・サリーさんの
この「ムーン・ダンス」をかけながら仕事をしました。

とすると。

これが結構いいんですよ。
家事って、テンポのいい曲でガンガン攻めるばかりが
いいんじゃない。
これを聞きながら、ゆーったりした心持ちで

家事をしていると、いつもより、丁寧に出来るし。

お昼寝タイム、まどろみタイムにはもちろんのこと、
実は家事にも向いていた！という「ムーン・ダンス」

おすすめです。

同時期の発売の「デイドリーム」に対して、こちらは「ムーンダンス」ということだが、それほど夜のイメージが強いということはない。ただ「デイドリーム」との違いは顕著であり、こちらは基本はアコギの伴奏とアン･サリーの歌で構成されていて、「ムーンダンス」のほうが素朴な歌の力強さを感じるし、叙情的な印象を受けた。二枚とも、アン･サリーというボーカリストの歌を聴かせるための演奏をしているが、より彼女の歌に耳を澄ましてしまうのは、こちらのほうかなという気がする。良い歌、良い曲、そしてそれらを惹きたてるための演奏で勝負。そのしっかりとしたコンセプトがとてもよく伝わってくるプロダクションだ。こういうシンプルな歌の力は、たくさんの人の聴く音楽の幅を拡げる可能性を持っている。ここからいろいろな音楽へとつながっていくことができる一枚だと思う。

ほぼ同時期にリリースされたアルバム『Day Dream』とは異なり、
夜のイメージで選曲されているアルバム。
『蘇州夜曲』といい、某不動産ディベロッパーのCMに使われて
いる『星影の小径』といい、『Happier Than the Morning Sun』
といい、選曲と歌声が見事に合致しており、何も考えたくない夜に
無心になってどっぷり浸かることが出来る。まさに、
『イヤーキャンディ』とは彼女の歌声の事を指すと言っても過言
ではないかと。
