言わずと知れたオランダ出身の実力派ピアノ・トリオ。

本作は、馴染みの名曲を中心とした構成となっているが、このトリオ
ならではの巧みなアレンジとプレイで、原曲を損なうことなく新鮮な
魅力ある作品となっている。

もっともオーソドックスでシンプルな編成でありながら、新たな演奏
技法を試みる等、自分たちならではのイマジネーション溢れるファン
タスティックなトーンを創り出している。

本作では、メンバーが１曲ずつオリジナル曲を提供している。

＜リトル・スコーピオ＞　ロイ（ds）

もちろん、カバー曲に勝るとも劣らない仕上がりとなっており、特に
ファンタジスタの美しいメロディは印象的で永く耳に残る。

ライブに足を向けると、素顔の彼等は気さくで礼儀正しく、彼等が原曲
をレスペクトしつつ、研究していることがよく伝わってくる。

本作は、「スイング・ジャーナル」誌のゴールド・ディスクにも選定
されている。

アルバムの収録曲、どれもが一度は聞いたことがある曲ばかりで心地よい。有名な曲をジャズアレンジすると原曲の印象が強いためか、つまらない演奏になってしまう曲も聴いてきたが、このアルバムはそれとは全く別物だ。ヨーロピアン・ジャズ・トリオというだけあって、３人の息はぴったり合っていて耳障りな無駄な部分がなくホント素敵な演奏をくりひろげていく。私のお気に入りは６曲目。アルバムデザインも秀逸。ジャズが初めてな方も、一度聴くと彼らの世界にきっとハマルかも！おすすめの一枚です。
