ＭＡＸの曲を手掛けてる人が歌うＭＡＸの曲は、また違う印象で新鮮！
歌詞が、男性側の気持ちにも取れます(笑)
「Ｒｉｄｅ　ｏｎ　ｔｉｍｅ」では、何気にＭＡＸがコーラスしてたり♪

オリジナル新曲のリリースがここ最近途絶えている彼の待望の作品ということで楽しみにしてました。楽曲は既に他アーティストがリリースした作品のセルフカバーなのですが、どれもが横山輝一さんの歌として違和感のないようにアレンジされています。それだけに全く新しい印象を受ける曲もたくさんありました。「ＹＡ−ＹＡ−ＹＡ」は以前にもセルフカバーをしているのですが、今回は妖艶な打ち込みサウンドの中でトランス感満点のアレンジを施しており、思わずはっとさせられました。ラストの「Ｌｏｖｉｎ’Ｙｏｕ」は歌い手としての彼の最大のヒット曲を新たに歌い直したもの。オリジナルバージョンよりも全体的にマイルドな感じで歌い上げられており、より冬の雰囲気を幻想的に表現したアレンジと多重コーラスの美しさにはアーティストとしてぐっと大人っぽく成長した彼の懐の深さが見られました。郷ひろみさんに提供した「くせになる」、コンボイに提供した「ＷＡＫＥ　ＵＰ」等は割と普段の彼自身がリリースしている作品に近いイメージです。イージーリスニングな作風なので、ファン以外の方でも馴染みやすいんじゃないかと思います。ただ、長年ファンをやっている自分としては、やはりオリジナル曲のメジャーリリースが待ち遠しくなってしまいますね。

６年もの間、プロデュサー業に専念していた横山輝一の新作は、彼自身が長年他のアーティストへ提供した楽曲をセルフカバーしたもの。
大ヒットしたＭＡＸの「Ｒａｄｅ　ｏｎ　ｔｉｍｅ」をはじめ、ＺＯＯの「ＹＡ-ＹＡ-ＹＡ」、ＷＳ、Ｖ６、郷ひろみ･･･
提供されたアーティストの名前ひとつ見ても、そのバラエティさと豪華さに驚いてしまう。

これだけの種類のアーティストに楽曲を提供し続けた彼の力量は、もちろん楽曲の製作やプロデュース力だけではない。
全ての歌を見事に歌いこなし、それぞれのアーティストが歌ったオリジナル曲のイメージを壊すことなく、それでいて更に違った角度からの色づけをしている。

これだけの歌唱力、楽曲の制作力がありながら、セールスに結びつかないのが不思議なくらいだ。
１曲目、４曲目のＭＡＸへ提供した楽曲では、ＭＡＸがコーラスとして参加している。

VOL.1というからには、VOL.2が出る事を今から期待しています！
