　FREEという新しいジャンルの確立、そしてその莫大な制作費用で話題となった「シェンムー　一章　横須賀」。その純粋な続編にあたる「シェンムー2」がドリコレシリーズのラインナップに名を連ね、再販されることとなった。

　前作はその本質的なゲームの内容で賛否が完全に分かれた本作だったが、続編の制作にあたって、舞台を中国（香港）に移し、３Dマップが大幅拡大（前作を凌駕する広さ）され、登場キャラクターも大幅に増加（特に女性）されている。音楽やグラフィッククオリティの進歩も著しく、アームレスリングやダーツなどの魅力的なミニゲームが随所にちりばめられている点も見逃せない。

　反面、前作同様にアクセス速度の長い読み込みが頻繁にあったり、更に基本的に「見ているだけ」でゲーム性がやや希薄な点は残念。そして「これから」というところでブツリと終わってしまう唐突なエンディングには気分を害されてしまった。

　通常版は7800円という高価格設定だったが廉価版は2800円！価格面では非常にお買い得。前作のファン・前作が気に入った方には是非購入を推奨したい。
