ジャケットに描かれた喪服の女性が意味深気ですね。

この歌を初めて聴いた時、戦時の神風特攻隊を連想しました。
特攻機｢桜花｣に乗った隊員らは作戦決行(＝死)を前に、
互いに九段（靖国神社）の桜の下で必ず会おうと誓い合い散華していかれたそうです。
その方々の遺書でも、ご自身を「桜」と例えられている事が多く、
歌詞中の「さくら」というのは彼らの例えで、
この曲は彼らの鎮魂歌ではないかとさえ思えました。

もちろん卒業ソングと捕らえるのもありかと思いますが
この歌にはもっともっと深いメッセージが込められているように思えます。

「世界ウルルン滞在記」のｴﾝﾄﾞをみてこの曲がｼﾝｸﾞﾙ化されるのを知りました
僕はデビューアルバムの中で「卒業式なんかで唄いたいなぁ」と思っていた曲なのでこの時期にｼﾝｸﾞﾙ化されたのでとても嬉しかったです。
「独唱」では、直太朗さんの歌のうまさがひかっていたと思います。

「別れ」「旅立ち」をする方にぜひ一回聞いてほしい歌だと思います。
心打たれる唄です。

この曲はCDショップで初めて聴いたのですが、周りでうるさく流れている焼き増しのような音楽たちを一掃するかのように僕の心に入ってきました。
なんて綺麗な声なんだろうと素直に感心できます。歌唱力もそこら辺で歌姫とか言われてるネーちゃんたちが素人のように思えてしまいます。
特に裏声が素晴らしいです。カラオケでは絶対歌えません（ｗ

曲の方も歌詞とのシンクロが上手く出来ていて、心の底から感情が込み上げてきます。ぼくは背筋がブルッときました。

焼き増しのような音楽ばかりが散乱する今の音楽業界で「直太朗」という人物にしか唄えない、曲であると思います。僕はこの曲に関わった人たち、そして森山直太朗さんに感謝したいと思います。絶対に全ての日本人に聞いてもらいたいと初めて思える曲です。
