シングルになっている１，３，４や、ライブの定番となった７などアップテンポな曲が多く収録されている。一方１０のようなバラードや６といったミディアムテンポの曲もあり、バラエティに富む内容。特に８は珍しいストーリー仕立てながら彼らしいメッセージ性のある曲で興味深い。

「Live1994」の「どうしょうもないくらい」もすばらしかったが、やはり原曲も劣らずに素晴らしい。結局、リスナーの思春期の葛藤、彼自身の内なる闇、徳永にまつわるキーワードは全てこの曲に集約されるものがある。
己の心の闇に対してさえ、一種引いてみている視線の詞では、主人公は更なる自己嫌悪の螺旋へと陥ってしまう。そこから抜け出すには、堅く塞がった殻を破る相当の力が要るが、その力こぶを表したのがこの曲である。
「Revolution」との絡みを曲順でもっと表してほしかった。「どうしようもないくらい」で終わるのは、このアルバムでもっともテーマを持ち、求心性をもっていたから。そうでないと、個々がばらばらの、しまりのない単なるオムニバスアルバムに成り下がっていた可能性あり。

８０年代後半から９０年代初期の徳永さんの活動の中で、非常に重いテーマを背負ったとされるオリジナルアルバム「JUSTICE」の次作。そしてこの「REVOLUTION」の次が「Nostalgia」である。つまりネガティブ思考時代３部作の中央に位置。
このアルバムが発表された頃は、湾岸戦争。日本ではバブル景気がまさに弾けようとする時であり、収録曲自体も恋愛と言うよりも、もがき苦しむかのような、悲痛・諦念にも似たような自己メッセージ性に満ちている。

「Wednesday Moon」，「負けるな」などは曲調自体が歌詞自体にもあるように好景気に浮かれる都会の夜の印象。
「LOVE IS ALL」は、ニュースで見た湾岸戦争に向かう米軍兵士の姿にインスパイアされて書いたと言われ、一時期多国籍軍とイラク軍の間に立ち、歌ってやろうかなと、本気で考えたことがあると、徳永さんは述懐したと言われ、その一方で、やっと「ラブソングらしいラブソングが書けた」と自賛。この曲の本質は究極の愛（色恋という意味だけではなく）じゃないかなとも言う。後発されるベストアルバムの多くに収録されるなど、今もなお愛され続けられる名曲。自分としては、「夢を信じて」，「追憶」に並ぶ名曲中の名曲だ。

このアルバム自体では当時の徳永さんの苦悩・考え方が昇華できた訳ではなく、次作「Nostalgia」への前章的なものだろう。
ただある意味、JUSTICEで一気に獲得した男性支持層の心を確実に捉えたと言っても過言ではない名盤。ロックミュージシャン徳永英明のイメージを確固たるものにした。
アレンジャーに名を連ねる佐藤準氏はライブコンサート向けを意識した編曲と言うことで、確かに全体的にライブをイメージさせる。
