「人喰地獄　ゾンビ復活」という名でＶＨＳで、でてたイタリアゾンビ映画。
たしかにダラダラとゾンビが現れ、ダラダラと銃撃戦を繰り広げ、緊張感を置き忘れたような演出は、正直面白いと言えないかもしれない。
それでもラスト１０分間にゾンビ映画の魅力が凝縮されているのもまた事実です。観客の神経を逆撫でするような後味の悪さ。「この１０分間のためだけに観たい！！！」そう思える映画です。私はその為だけに購入しました（笑）

ゾンビ映画好きなら、１度は通らなければならない道ではないでしょうか。

南国の孤島に於ける癌治療研究の副作用として現れた宗教絡みのゾンビと若者たちの死闘をスプラッター描写満載で描いた本作は北米では『Zombie 4: After Death』、英国では『Zombie Fresh Eaters 3』という相反するタイトルで知られており、要するに元々シリーズ作品ではなく単品として製作された作品です。『The Other Hell』等の脚本家出身のClaudio Fragasso監督(当時37歳)の演出は良く言えば正統的、悪く言えば没個性的ですが、1980年代後半の新鋭Rossella Drudiの脚本は過去の欧米ゾンビ映画の諸要素を惜しむことなく盛り込んだ充実の内容となっており、例えば、全体的ストーリー構成法は『Hell of the Living Dead』から、武器を用いて飛び回る(しかも時には笑い出す)精力的ゾンビ像は『Nightmare City』からの影響を受けています。尚、今回のDVD本編は北米で先行発売されていた｢uncut｣版よりも3分も長い貴重な(恐らく現存する最長の)ものです。

夏場の、ゴキブリのように、キレのある動きをするゾンビが
とても印象にのこりました。
しかも、ニコニコ笑っているゾンビもいて、ある意味ビックリ
しました。
恐いと言ったら、まあ恐いかな？　好みの、わかれる作品
だと思います。
