映画が成功した最大の功労者は、紛れも無く於大ジェリー・ゴールドスミスの傑作スコア!かなりの高齢だった筈なのに、この勇壮なメロディ。素晴らしいです。

選曲にもう少しソヴィエト色がほしいと思うのは私だけでしょうか…？
所々にそのモティーフは見え隠れするんですが、それだけでは「正義と
悪」の「正義」の部分がやけに強調されているようで、なんだか鼻につます。

特に、ラデクが射殺された時の音楽効果には鳥肌がたったんですが…
収録されていないのはなんとも残念です。ただ、やはりメインテーマは映画史上に残る偉大な一曲。そこを評価。

ジェリー・ゴールドスミスによる代表的な傑作スコア。様々なテレビ番組でBGMに使われた為、多くの人が耳にしたことがあるだろう。

実は当初の音楽担当はランディ・ニューマンであったが、プロデューサーが彼のスコアを気に入らず、急遽ゴールドスミスに仕事が回ってきたという経緯がある。この時すでに映画公開直前であった為、ゴールドスミスに与えられた時間は僅かしかなく、本人いわく「10日で作曲した」らしい。

そんないわく付きのスコアではあるが、それを微塵も感じさせない高い完成度はさすが。主張の強いメインテーマはしっかりと耳に残るし、その他のアクションシーンの曲も「ランボー」を思わせるような燃える曲ばかりである。確かにアメリカ万歳な雰囲気はあるが、大統領が主人公なのだからそれも当たり前。むしろ音楽だけでそれを感じさせるゴールドスミスの手腕に敬意を評したい。
全8曲、総収録時間は約35分。
