久々に本格的なカルメンの録音が出た。最も素晴らしいのはプラッソンの指揮とオーケストラだ。やはりカルメンはフランスの香りがしたほうが良い。主役の４人もそれぞれ素晴らしいが、やはりフランス人のアラーニャが飛びぬけて良い。将軍的ではない「伍長」のホセをうまく歌っている。彼ならばカルメンに魅了されて殺人者にまで落ちるという人間の弱さを感じ取れる。ゲオルギューはミカエラが似合うと思うが、意外とカルメンも良く、色気についてはカラス並ではないかと思う。ただ、声の凄味という点では遠く及ばないが・・。いずれにしても、クリュイタンス版、プルートル版以来のの待望の一枚だと太鼓判を押せる。
