   小田原在住の幼なじみ3人組の、インディーズ時代の1stアルバム。この後、生きることの憂鬱や逡巡や屈託をいや増して、歌詞にも文学性や情景描写も生まれていったが、2003年3月発売の本作では、いまだ「辛い思いをした分優しくなれる」「死ぬまでに自分はどれだけの出会いと別れを体験するのか」といった、心底青い、青春ド真ん中の「状態」をみてとれる。

   だが、青春パンクが淘汰されつつあったこの時期に、彼らはその素直すぎる気持ちを、半端に濁ったサウンドや闇雲にファストなビートで撒き散らすのでなく、きれいなプロダクトとメロディで描いた。悩ましいけれど、命があることに感謝したい――それが何より伝わるし、そこが刺さる作品でもある。（石角友香）

少し前から流行りだした「若者の青春を語る」的なジャンルの楽曲。
そんなジャンルに含まれるであろう、藍坊主の本アルバムに含まれる楽曲を、
私は素直にいい歌だと思いました。

個人的にあまりそういったジャンルの歌はあまり好きではなく、
「青春はそんなに簡単ではない」
と言いたくなってしまうのを堪えて、テレビなどから流れてくる流行の歌を聴いていました。

しかし藍坊主の語る「青春」は、
若者の心のわだかまりという抽象的な部分を残しつつ、
全てを語って押し付ける事をしない。
そんな彼らの歌が私は好きです。

ゆったりとしながらも しかりとしたリズムに、包み込むようなやさしい声。歌が不思議と耳に入り込み、ふと気づくと口ずさんでいる。
藍坊主の魅力はそんなところにあります。

藍坊主はこの「藍坊主」の頃は完全なパンクバンドでしたが、最近はポップな曲やアコースティックな曲、幻想的な曲や激しい曲など曲調の幅の広いロックバンドであり、今と昔ではまったく違うバンドといっても過言ではありません。実際この「藍坊主」と「ハナミドリ」等を聴き比べると、本当に同じバンドかと驚くと思います。なので、この「藍坊主」があまり好きではなくても「ハナミドリ」は好きかも知れないし、逆もありえます。パンク好きの人には昔の曲の方が定評があるようなので、「ヒロシゲブルー」とともにおすすめします。
