「CDを聴いて、20秒間なにも楽しいことが起こらなければ飛ばしてしまうこともある。」

何かの雑誌のインタビューで冨田氏自身がこう答えていたが、このCDでは僅か3秒の間に、次々と楽しいことや驚きがやってくる。
それは、コード展開であったり、リズム・アレンジであったり、ベース・ラインであったり、楽器の音色であったり、エンディングと次の曲のオープニングの関係だったり、仕掛けは様々で、何度聴いても厭きることがない。
ゲスト・ヴォーカリストたちの適役ぶりにまず耳を惹かれるが、このCDの主役は、曲自体の良さとその味を何倍にもしているバック・トラックの仕掛け・技である。
そして、職人でありながら細部にのみ意味を込めるのではなく、アルバム全体として一体のコンセプト・アルバムのように聴かせてもいる。

ディティールの作り込みと、大きなストーリー、大物や個性派（これは冨田氏自身のヴォーカルか：笑）役者の適材適所への活用、まるで優れた映画を観るような名盤だと思う。

もう素晴らしいの一言!!日本にもこんな人が居るのかと思うと誇らしいです!!捨て曲なんかありません。全てが名曲です。誰かも書いていましたが、CDを再生して数秒で引き込まれてしまいました。もっと早く聞いとけば良かった。真の名盤です。

5.0 out of 5 stars 香りや、粒子まで感じられる空気に満ちるアルバム, 2006/1/7
緻密に、やわらかに、しなやかに構築されたサウンドの奥に〈冨田ラボ〉プロジェクトとして、他のプロデュースワークより一段と強いリズムへのこだわりが滲む。取っ掛かりはよいが飽きのこない、何度もリピートして締めつけられたくなる麻薬的なアルバム。
一聴して「おとなのポップス」という言葉が浮かぶが、しかしこの音には、そんな通り一遍の形容を撥ねとばす力がある。メンツは豪華だが、〈豪華なだけでバラバラ〉というありがちなものでは全然ない。一番好きなのはM-11「海を渡る橋」。ここにおける空気――「松本隆の詞」と「冨田恵一の曲」が互いに持ち寄り交わったさきの、しめやかに香り、かつ粒子まで感じられる空気。そして、ヴォーカルはその空気をとりこみ、ふるわせる――がこのアルバムのひとつのかなめだと思う（この二人の組みあわせはもう一曲、M-3「眠りの森」があり、こちらもすばらしい）。ほかのひとの詞もとてもよく、さすが！と心から唸らせる。捨て曲はまったくなし。CDをかけると、曲ごとに違った、しかし不思議と統一された感じの、曲世界をとりまく「空気の匂い」が漂ってくる（＊空気空気といっても味気ないという意味ではなく）。いや、ほんとうに。
重みのないポップスがヒットチャートを席巻するなか、ヒットを生みだす側から出た貴重な存在のアルバム（でも、この人がかかわったヒット曲は例外が多い）。
