   和風ホラーという独特な世界観ながらも北米、欧州で高い評価を受け、世界的なヒットを放ったPS2版『零~zero~』が、『FATAL FRAME』としてXbox向けにリニューアルされた。本作は、廃墟にただよう霊をカメラで撮影して封印するというアクションアドベンチャーゲーム。PS2版には登場しなかった新しい霊たちも登場する。

   主人公の雛咲深紅（ひなさきみく）は、ありえないものが見えてしまう霊感少女。深紅は失踪した兄を探しに、廃墟となった日本家屋「氷室邸」に潜入する。深紅の行く手を阻む霊は、射影機（カメラ）で写真をとると封印されてしまう。ぎりぎりまで近くに霊を引き寄せファインダーの中央で写真をとれば、霊に大きなダメージを与えると同時に射影機に霊力を蓄えることができる。貯めた霊力で封印を解けば射影機がパワーアップしていくので、怖がらずにどんどん霊を写しまくろう。

   Xbox版ではファインダーで見える範囲が広くなり、装備しているフィルムの種類、鏡石の有無も確認できるようになった。敵の体力をゼロにしてから倒すと得られるボーナス「JUST KILL」も追加。また、新たに加えられた難易度「FATAL」で強力な霊を倒したあかつきには、深紅のイラストなどのギャラリーモードが楽しめる。

   セーラー服風だった深紅のコスチュームもXbox版では大人っぽく変更され、真紅の着物をはじめPS2版の倍以上のバリエーションを用意。Xboxの高スペックをいかした表現技術でグラフィックがさらに美しくなり、よりリアルな恐怖が体験できる仕上がりとなっている。（福島ヒデユキ）

最初はあまりの怖さに鳥肌が立ちっぱなしでしたが、途中からその美しく儚いストーリーに引き込まれていきました。ハリウッドで映画化されるのもうなづけます。ＸＢＯＸ版はＰＳ２版に比べ画質・音響・操作性が良いですし、何より真のエンディングを見て欲しいと思いました！難易度は高いですがある操作で初めからコスチュームや射影機能、アイテム等が全解放されるので初心者でも一日で最後の真エンディングまで辿り着けました。私の中で「紅い蝶」に次ぐ全ゲーム中最高のソフトです。

PS2で人気を博した零~ZERO~の移植です。
しかし、ただの移植ではなく操作性の向上や画面デザインの見直しによりPS2版の物よ
りも数段プレイしやすくなっています。
難易度が高いだけにライトユーザーにも配慮したのかウラ技のコードを入力することで、
隠し要素を全て出すことが出来るのも好感がもてます。
精神に直接はたらきかける和の恐怖を堪能してください。

プレステ2版の零~zero~を改良したもの
それがFATAL FRAMEです！

グラフィックの改善はもちろんのこと、新しいアイテムや新コスチューム、新しい10種類のゴーストが収録されているそうです。また、Fatalモードは、難易度がアップしておりマルチエンディングが採用されています。

これは買いでしょう！
