ギターが、ピーター・バンクスからスティーヴ・ハウに交代した3rd。
言っておくと、このアルバムに収録されている曲は、ライブでも演奏され続けている曲ばかりだ。

目立つのは、ハウの才能面。
作曲に参加し、ギターも弾きまくる。
彼の影響か前作よりも曲にメリハリがきき、長尺曲も難なく聴かせる。
かつ、各楽器が様々な役割をし、ソロで各人が魅せる。
これら、いわば「YESサウンド」が確立されたのがこのアルバム。
トニー・ケイのKeyだけちょっと弱めか・・・？

間違いなく聴いておかなければならない1枚。

　イエスがいよいよその個性を確立した作品です。
　一曲目「Yours Is No Disgrace」は、メンバーそれぞれが最大限に持ち味を発揮できる長尺曲で、変化に富んだ構成で見せ場たっぷりです。10分近い曲を全く長く感じさせず、興奮を持続させてくれるのは見事です。
　新加入したスティーブ・ハウの存在感も大きく、イエス飛躍期の勢いがパッケージされた名作だと思います。

　二曲目の「Clap」ではスティーブがアコースティックギターの個人技を披露しており、四曲目「I'
ve Seen All Good People」は、牧歌的でコーラスの美しいイエススタンダードナンバーが聴けます。　
　バランスが良く、飽きのこない作品です。
リマスター効果も抜群で、長く聴きつづけたいアルバムです。

多種多様のギター類を弾きまくる才人、スティーブ・ハウが加入し、ついにイエスサウンドが完成する。次作以降の黄金期のアルバムがまるでクラシックのようにスコアの完璧な再現を目指すのと比較すると、本作ではときおり即興も交えているのが興味深い。これはやはりクラシックの素養を持つリック・ウェイクマンの加入が大きかったのだと考えさせられる。とはいえ楽曲は粒揃いで、後のライブで取り上げられる曲のオンパレード。「Yours Is No Disgrace」や、「Starship Trooper」等の長尺曲も出現し、いよいよという感じだ。
とはいえ、次作以降の圧倒的な作品群と比較した上で星４つ。
