   「散開」を決めたYMOが、文字通りファンへのサービスとしてリリースしたアルバム。YMOの楽曲の間に劇団「スーパーエキセントリックシアター」のギャグが挿入されるという構成は、『増殖』とまったく同じだが、こちらの方はどことなくノンビリとした印象を与える。楽曲は、YMOというよりも、細野、坂本、高橋の音楽的個性が全面に出た仕上がりで、1980年代を代表するバンドが消滅してしまうことへの感傷はまったく感じられない。もちろんサウンドのクオリティはきわめて高く、じゅうぶんに楽しめる作品に仕上がっている。（森 朋之）

YMOのアルバムの中では、ちょっと異色な、AORっぽい響きのするアルバムです。
全曲英語（英訳はピーター・バラカン）の歌詞がついており、唯一「全曲歌えるアルバム」でもありますね。
The Madmenの歌詞が、なんとなくKeyに通ずるところがあって好きです。

曲の中では、坂本のPerspectiveが秀逸。
この曲は後に彼のピアノ・アルバム”/04”にも収録された、美しい曲です。
（その他、彼のライブ盤にも収録されています）

さて、手持ちの"サービス"の中でもっとも新しい盤、1998年のALCA-5224（これ以前の盤は全て同一音質）と比較してみました。
音に厚みが加わっていて、別のアルバムのようです。
音質比較の為に再生した際、ついつい全曲聴いてしました。
2003年の再リリース盤はまだ、
　１．BGM
　２．Technodelic
　３．浮気なぼくら＋インストゥルメンタル
　４．サービス
しか聴いておりませんが、１、２は劇的に音質が変わっているにもかかわらず、３はほとんど変わっていなかったので、本作の音質向上はあまり期待していなかっただけに、うれしい誤算でした（ただし、１，２ほど劇的な向上ではありません）。

他のアルバムがどれくらい音質が向上しているのか、楽しみになってきました。

当時YMOが散解するなんてちっとも知らないまま、このアルバムを購入。レコードに針を落とした瞬間に流れた『LINBO』のシンセの響きに
感動。『SHADOWS ON THE GROUND』のメロディの美しさに涙。『SEE THROUGH』の幸宏節全開に狂喜。独特のクールな感じの楽曲がならび曲自体は良いのだが三人の熱意はきわめて冷たい。。SETだってスネークマンとは方向性が異なるのだから皆もっと大きな気持ちで聴いてほしい。幸宏プロデュースのSETソロアルバムはもっと完成度が高い。

「アフターサーヴィス」と「テクノドン」を別にすればＹＭＯ最後のアルバムですね。わりと冷ややかな反応が多いようですが彼等の長い戦いを終えた徒労感みたいなものが感じられて、ちょっと悟りみたいな雰囲気がいいです。Ｓ・Ｅ・Ｔも素直に笑えましたよ。僕は。教授の「ＰＥＲＳＰＥＣＴＩＶ」が良かったですね。毎日の繰り返しが人を支えてるんですね。
