　最近ラジオから流れた「夏の終わり」を聞く機会があり、懐かしさのあまりすぐその日にに注文した小生。若かりし日々を思い出すとともに、当時のキャロルのかっこよさ、音楽の調子良さ。改めてよき時代だったと思ってしまった次第。矢沢永吉氏のソロも気にいっていたが、封を開け改めて聞き思わず体が動いてしまった老体。何はともあれ、今の若い世代の方々にも一度聞いていただきたい「キャロル」でした。

昔からのファンじゃないし、矢沢永吉のソロも聞いたことは無かったけど、ニートビーツとかマックショウが好きで試しに買ってみた。

スゲーかっこ良かったんだ。もう言葉じゃつたえられないくらい。

夏祭りでファンキーモンキーベイビー流しながら、ツイストしてる人達見てダッセーとか思った小学生の自分を恥じたい。
日本のロック遡ってルースターズとかで止まってないでキャロルも聴こうぜ。「イカシテル」ってキャロルそのものを表してると思う。
マジでイカシテルよ。

５、12、19、22、25はオリジナルアルバム未収録。キャロルのデビュー曲は２の「ルイジアンナ」だが、本当は23の「ホープ」が最初のデビュー曲になるはずだった。それが２になったのには理由がある。当初のオリジナルメンバーは、後になってダウンタウンブギウギバンドに参加したドラマーの相原誠だった。そのメンバーで録音したのが23だった。しかし、急きょジョニー大倉とのそりがあわなくなり脱退してしまい、当時、1972.10.1にデビューが決まっていたキャロルが岡崎を臨時に加入させ予定のレコーディングを済ませたという経緯があった。すでにデビューアルバムのジャケ写は製作されていたため、ルイジアンナには二種類のジャケット写真が存在する。今回のザ・ベストに使用されたものが、その岡崎をメンバーにしたものの二次使用のものだ。
そのため、シングルでは皮ジャンを着た岡崎以外の者が背中を向けて顔を見せずに３枚のシングルが発売された。今回のベストは選曲的には３枚のオリジナル盤と５と19でのＡＢ面シングル、12、22のＡ面シングル、最後の録音となった25で編集された。
