93年から99年までベルリン・フィルのコンサートマスターを務め、現在は、ソリストとして活躍するかたわらハンブルク音楽大学教授のポストにあるもコーリャ・ブラッハー。彼は、高名な作曲家ボリス・ブラッハーの息子として63年にベルリンに生まれ、15歳のときにニューヨークへ渡り、ジュリアード音楽院でディレイに師事、その後、ザルツブルクでヴェーグに学ぶなど、正統派の流れをくみながらも国際的な演奏スタイルを身につけた、真の実力派だ。バルトーク、ホリガー、シューマンの作品を並べたこのアルバムで、彼は理知的で洗練された音楽づくりと高度な演奏技術を披露する。バルトークでは、民族的性格よりも純器楽作品としての側面が強調され、シューマンでは、堅固なテクニックによる端正な演奏が繰り広げられる。若くからスター扱いされているヴァイオリニストたちの演奏とは一線を画する、作品に対して真摯で堅実なブラッハーの演奏は、現在、かなり貴重である。 (山田治生) --- 2003年02月号
