5.0 out of 5 stars モリコーネの代表曲を1枚で聴くなら、コレ。, 2003/10/22
数あるモリコーネの曲のなかでも、代表的なものや日本人になじみがあるものが、非常にバランスよく入っている。モリコーネの音楽を聴いてみたい人間が最初に聴くべきCDだろう。

サントラを使っていない曲もあるので、より「聴きやすい」と感じられる反面、曲が使われた映画そのものに思い入れのある人間は、不満を持つかもしれない。個人的には「ミッション」は、映画のエンディングのアレンジのほうが良かったと思っている。

が、こういった不満を差し引いても、買うに値する1枚である。

エンニオ・モリコーネといえば、まず『ニュー・シネマ・パラダイス』の叙情たっぷりの音楽が想起されるであろう。私も、その口で購入した者であるが、本作はそういう人にこそ、是非聞いて欲しいアルバムである。アップテンポなものからしっとりと聞かせるものまで、幅広い。老若男女、買って損なしの映画音楽集である。

また、今年の大河ドラマ『武蔵』の音楽も担当しているので、気になった方が聞かれるのもお薦めである。

初期のマカロニ・ウエスタンの作品から、近年の「ニューシネマ・パラダイス」などのロマンティックな作品まで幅広く収められているのが嬉しい。「エーゲ海に捧ぐ」など、多少入手困難な音源が収録されているのも良い。モリコーネ作品の歴史を一枚で俯瞰できるという意味でも、お買得な一枚。
