設計の点で完成されているのかとても素直な描写が魅力です。割と初期の個体なのですが、使ってきてとにかく色が濃いレンズと印象を持ちます。今はデジタルになって色が強調できる時代ですが、それでも、撮像素子に届けられなかった色は出せません。
こういう時代だからこそ、色のしっかり拾ってくれて、それを出せるレンズに強い魅力を感じます。

このレンズの特徴は，F2.0という開放F値です。ポートレートではよく開放絞りを使い背景をぼかしますが，このレンズはぼけ味もよく，その点では最高のレンズです。APSサイズデジ一では，216mmという焦点距離となり，全く同じとはいきませんが，過去発売されていた200/1.8Lに近いものがあります。室内のスポーツ撮影にも使え，オススメのレンズです。

このレンズ好きですが、そもそもデジタル向けに開発された物ではないので、デジタルで使用するとやはり少し色が浅いです。
まあ色が浅いと云うよりは白かぶりという方があっているかな。

コーティングがアナログむけなんですよね。
レンズの描写はずば抜けて良いですが、デジタルで使用だとその威力もやはり落ちます。
コーティングを変えて出してくれると、なおよいのですが。

ちなみにキャノンの８５mmf1.2IIはコーティングを変えて出されています。

非常にリーズナブルなレンズですから
使い勝手はいいと思います。
