　ハンク・ジョーンズ，ロン・カーター，トニー・ウィリアムスの，いわば初代グレイト・ジャズ・トリオによる演奏は，初期の「ヴィレッジ・ヴァンガード」でのライヴ盤に人気があるようだが，曲毎のまとまりや三者の緊密度からいって，本作が同トリオの最高傑作ではないかと思う。
　ハンク・ジョーンズの流麗でメロディアスなピアノ・スタイルが最高に発揮されているし，バックではロン・カーターが着実に支え，トニー・ウィリアムスも叩きすぎず軽やかに歌っている。それぞれが持ち寄ったオリジナル曲も全て魅力的だ。
　数あるピアノ・トリオの中で小生が密かに傑作として愛する１枚。
