J-PHONEのCMソングとしてもO.A.された、CKB初のクリスマス・ナンバー。モータウンっぽいイメージのオーソドックスにしてハイ・クオリティな楽曲は、横山剣のソングライターとしての才能（もともとは、職業作曲家になりたかった人だからね、剣さん）をばっちり示しているし、その芸風の広さには改めて驚かされる。実際は、「え、クリスマスの歌？ ありますよ！」とウソついっちゃったもんだから、10分くらいでパッと作ったらしいけど、この曲をきっかけにしてCKBの濃い世界に入ってくる人も多いはず。入り口の曲としては最適。（森 朋之）

クリスマス・シーズンには新旧いろいろなクリスマス・ソングが現れるが、“クリスマスが嫌い”というのは珍しい……が、やはり“なんちゃって”と言わざるを得ないところが微笑ましい。“毎年うまくいかないけど、今年こそベストな1日を”と歌うけなげな歌だ。
