   ファンタジックシミュレーションRPGの「サモンナイト」シリーズがPlayStation2に初登場。異世界リィンバウムで新たなキャラクターたちが繰り広げる完全新作ストーリーを、キャラクターデザインを飯塚武史、シナリオを都月狩というシリーズ人気スタッフが描く。

   主人公は帝国軍所属の若者だが、エリートのステータスである軍属を捨て家庭教師となり、帝国軍人を目指す4人の少年少女たちを生徒として教える。プレイヤーは男主人公レックスもしくは女主人公アティのどちらかを選択可能だ。アドベンチャーパート、シミュレーションパート、夜会話というおなじみの流れはそのままに、本作ではアドベンチャーパートに特殊イベント「授業会話」が加わっている。生徒に対して行なう授業内容によって新しい技能を覚えたり、ステータスが上昇したりする。

   2人で協力してひとつの召喚術を唱える「協力召喚術」や特定キャラクターのみが使用できる「専門召喚術」、自軍ユニット全体に効果を与える「パーティ能力」、バトルMAP上でのボイスなど新要素を多数搭載。さらにミニゲームには新ゲームを多数追加し、マルチエンディングに加えてクリアー後もアイテム集めを行えるおまけダンジョンといったやり込み要素も盛り込まれている。（押上大河）

ブレイブクリアという低いレベルでバトルをクリアするというシステムがあるのでそれえお意識すると今までのサモンナイトシリーズより難しいのでやりごたえがあります。別に気にしなくてもいいのでこういうバトルが苦手という人でもレベルを上げれば楽にバトルを進めれます。

１~３通してやっているのですが、召喚術のアニメーションがショートカットできるようになったのが、個人的にはかなり良かったです。ＥＤのギャラリーが集められるようになっているのも、シリーズ及び黒星紅白先生ファンの方にとってはかなり嬉しい事だと思います。そのＥＤも何種類もあるので、終える度に次はあのＥＤを目指してみよう、と思える作品です♪

サモンナイトシリーズはおろかシミュレーションＲＰＧもろくにプレイした事がなかったのですが、とてもよくできている作品だと感じました。やはり何度も遊びたくなると思ったのが一番自分の中では大きいです。ＲＰＧにとってこの要素は大事だと思います。それぞれキャラクターも個性あっていい雰囲気を出していますし、ストーリーも分岐があり何度もやりこめ、マンネリ化にならずに長く楽しめます。今後もとても期待できる作品です。
